Passengers on the Gozo Channel’s Nikolaos were forced to exit the ferry using car upper deck after the exit ramp malfunctioned.

In a recent social media post, PN’s MP and Gozo Shadow Minister Alex Borg expressed his concern regarding passenger safety and explained that due to the exit ramp’s steepness, people with disabilities as well as the elderly, found the ramp quite difficult to use.

Alex Borg also stated that the Nationalist Party will see that the fourth Gozo Ferry ship “will be what the Maltese and Gozitan people deserve.”

A Maltese company has set a new Guinness World Record with a spectacular New Year’s Eve drone fireworks display in Qatar.

Pyroemotions, based in Naxxar, achieved the record for the largest number of drone fireworks used in an air display, solidifying their reputation for pushing the boundaries of pyrotechnics.

The team behind this groundbreaking feat included 10 Maltese pyrotechnic and drone operators who played a key role in its success.

The breathtaking 10-minute display captivated thousands gathered at Lusail Boulevard in Qatar, blending drones, fireworks, lights, and music into a dazzling celebration to welcome the New Year.

The event has been widely publicized by Qatar as a triumph, with the record-breaking show earning praise for its innovative design and execution.

Andrea Scarpato, CEO, also highlighted to TVM that a similar, smaller-scale display was showcased in Malta during the conclusion of the International Fireworks Festival at the Grand Harbour last April, demonstrating the company’s consistent excellence in pyrotechnic artistry.

In a 6-1 victory for Hamrun Spartans over Marsaxlokk, footballer Luke Montebello scored his 100th goal in his Malta Premier career during the match to seal the deal in the 89th minute.

A Malta national football team player, Montebello boasts a full career, kicking off his international contributions with Livorno’s youth sector back in 2011.

His career saw him play for Valletta, Zebbug Rangers, Tarxien Rainbows, his childhood club Birkirkara and then, in 2022, Hamrun Spartans.

Luke made his Malta national football team debut under Pietro Ghedin against Slovakia on 26th March 2017.
