Jun 16 2021 Share

Beloved electronic music event Glitch Festival has announced the cancellation of their 2021 edition after Malta’s health authorities failed to give the green light to such an event.

The festival organisers took to social media to express their disappointment in being forced to cancel for another year, alluding to the Malta’s vaccination rate, little active cases and ICU without COVID-19 patients while authorities fail to provide logical reasoning behind these decisions.

We are heartbroken to announce that Glitch Festival 2021 will not go ahead. We did everything within our power to find…

The organisers also took the opportunity to call upon their fans and ask them to hold on to their ticket to further support the festival and, on a positive note, highlighted that they will be revealing phase 1 of the 2022 edition’s line-up in just a few days.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban made use of vaccines from Russia and China to speed up the jab process and was thus able to ease restrictions ahead of the match. Indoor meetings, cinemas, theatres and restaurants are also open in Hungary for those who can prove immunity. International fans had to provide negative PCR test proof within 72 hours of the match.
