Skims took a bold approach to promoting its latest swimwear collection by unveiling a massive 60-foot balloon of co-founder Kim Kardashian in the heart of Times Square.

The striking installation showcases Kardashian wearing Skims Swim’s new triangle top and cheeky tanga bottoms in the shade “Tide.”

Positioned on a sleek four-foot tide blue deck wrapped in the brand’s logo, the display highlights the newest swimwear drop.

Executive produced by Amy Kule of Merry Wonderer, the campaign introduces a versatile range of swimwear, cover-ups, and poolside accessories.

The collection features five statement colours: Champagne Leopard, Champagne Tiger, Snow, Tide, and Skims’ signature Onyx. Designed for mixing, matching, and layering, the pieces aim to be both stylish and flattering.

For the campaign shoot, Kardashian posed in the Bahamas, with photography by Playboy’s Ana Dias. “I love how this collection has something for everyone—whether on vacation or at the beach, it’s about feeling confident and amazing,” she stated.

Kardashian previously modelled for Skims Swim in April 2024 with a campaign by Nick Knight. Meanwhile, in February, Skims announced a major collaboration with Nike, aiming to revolutionise activewear for women athletes.

The Wildlife Rescue Team Malta engaged in a rescue of an entangled turtle which was spotted by people on the ferry from Malta to Gozo.

The rescue was the collaborative effort of Wildlife Rescue Team, ERA officials and the Armed Forces of Malta, and the turtle is now having the damage to its flipper assessed by a pet.

‘The entanglement was embedded quite deep in the flipper, with some swelling and descaling of the flipper present’, wrote the rescue team.

The turtle was named Kristine, in honour of a young volunteer who passed away mere weeks ago.

The team issued a reminder that it is illegal to keep protected species like turtles as pets in Malta.

Mar 5 2025 Share

In 2024, nine out of ten people aged 16 to 74 used the internet, with almost universal usage among those aged 16 to 44.

However, the 65–74 age group had the lowest engagement, at just over 70%. Despite this, Malta’s overall internet usage was slightly above the EU-27 average.

The internet was primarily used for communication, with 98.1% of users citing this reason, followed by entertainment at 94.6%.

Men showed a higher preference for internet-connected devices, with 84.5% using smart TVs and 32.8% using smartwatches or fitness bands.

E-Government services saw a significant rise, with a 6.9% increase in users from 2023 to 2024. In total, 81.1% of internet users (331,804 people) accessed these services, with uptake highest among those aged 16 to 54.

E-commerce was also popular, with 66.1% of internet users (270,318 people) shopping online. Those aged 25 to 44 were the most active shoppers.

The most common purchases were food deliveries, followed by clothing. Men were more likely to order food, while women favoured clothing purchases.

These findings highlight growing digital engagement, with communication, entertainment, and online shopping playing key roles in internet usage trends.
