In minus eight degree temperatures and snow as far as the eye can see, local singer and Instagram personality Gaia Cauchi took a photo which drove Malta wild with likes, comments and hot takes.

During a family ski trip in Italy’s Sestriere commune, Gaia took and posted a photo on her social media platforms which show her in snow boots, a beanie and a swimsuit, with many complimenting the bold move and praising the singer for the photo. The snaps were reportedly taken by Gaia’s mother, who was featured in the young starlet’s Instagram stories hilariously attempting to capture the photos in such freezing temperatures.

The emergence of the viral trend can be traced as far back as 2019, with Instagram influencers Kylie and Kendall Jenner posting a now-deleted photo in swimwear during their snowboarding vacation in Aspen, Colorado. Thousands of internet personalities followed the trend soon after. It is also tradition in places like Lapland to strip down into swimwear amid the snowy environment, with various celebrities making the headlines for the bold move.

Joseph Muscat not ruling out contesting general election in five years’ time

Feb 13 2022 Share

Former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has not completely excluded the possibility of contesting the general election in five years’ time, and if he does, it will be under the Labour ticket.

This was revealed during Muscat’s recent interview on Lovin Malta, where he said that he will not be part of the 2022 election but plans to leave the door open for a foray into politics if the opportunity arises. “We don’t even know when this election is taking place, let alone when the next one is taking place. It’s very far away”, he said.

Muscat also confirmed that he plans to return to his roots and contest with the Labour Party. He does not plan to set up any third parties, highlighting that not even Dom Mintoff managed to do it, “let alone Joseph Muscat.” The former Prime Minister went on to say that he could not destroy something he helped build and committed half of his life to.

With regards to the upcoming election, Muscat expects a PL majority similar to that of 2017, but outlined that the PL should not take another big victory for granted.
