In an exclusive report unveiled by ONE News, Frank Psaila and his wife Alessia Psaila Zammit resigned from the Nationalist Party.
Frank Psaila was a PN candidate for the previous European Parliament election whereas his wife is the ex-mayor of Siggiewi. She was also a candidate for the general election as well as Minority Leader for the Nationalist Party in the Siggiewi local council.
It was revealed that Alessia Psaila Zammit sent a letter to the Executive Secretary of the Siggiewi Local Council, announcing her renouncement from the PN. She will thus no longer represent Bernard Grech in Siggiewi, vacating her seat completely.
Meanwhile, Frank Psaila was also Information Director for the party and was in third place among Nationalist Candidates for the 2019 European Parliament election.
Political surveys were classifying Psaila in second place, with sources stating that the Nationalist Party establishment which placed Bernard Grech at the party’s helm was working through a block vote to place Psaila after Roberta Metsola and David Casa.
The couple had supported Adrian Delia in the past, with sources telling ONE News that Alessia was pushed to the side despite having worked for the party for around 20 years. This follows resignations by Doris Borg, and Ivan Bartolo.
