France makes condoms free for adults aged between 18 and 25

Dec 9 2022 Share

In what is being called a ‘small revolution for contraception’, French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that French pharmacies will begin to give free condoms to adults aged between 18 and 25.

This moves comes as part of the country’s attempt to reduce unwanted pregnancies in the country’s younger communities.

The decision follows another made earlier this year which saw the government offering free birth control to women aged under 25, to ensure young women do not stop taking contraception due to financial struggles.

If prescribed by medical officials such as doctors or midwives, condoms were already supported by France’s healthcare system as part of the country’s efforts to fight the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.

In the regard of sexual education, Macron stated that France and its teachers have much more to learn and educate as “[they] are not very good on this subject”.

These secret codes are Netflix’s worst kept secret and, by simply entering the digits into the platform’s search bar, you can categorise what content pops up based on criteria like plot, characters, rating, language and more.

For example, typing in ‘869’ will give you a list of Dark Comedies whilst entering the digits ‘9875’ will show you the platform’s catalogue of Crime Documentaries. ‘5475’ will give you Romantic Comedies for that one night where you can’t find the right movie and ‘75405’ will give you a variety of Zombie Horror movies.

Other codes include ‘7700’ for Westerns, ‘13335’ for Musicals, ‘31851’ for Gangster movies and the list goes on.

MSPCA calls for donations as they continue to treat suffering abandoned dogs

MSPCA calls for donations as they continue to treat suffering abandoned dogs

The Malta Society for Protection and Care of Animals (MSPCA) has issued a call for help as they continue to treat suffering abandoned dogs.

“How much more suffering will they endure? How can you let them get to this state and then abandon them to fend for themselves? When are we going to learn to respect animals?”

The animal protection society’s post sheds light on the state of the animals after they picked them up from the streets at 5:30am on Wednesday. Named Meg and Zeus, the dogs were vet-checked and were confirmed to be Parvo and Giardia positive, two infections which are seriously harmful to canines.

The male was reportedly covered in scars and bite marks, potentially from being used as a ‘bait dog’, a term used to describe a canine which is used to test another dog’s fighting instinct and is often injured or killed in the process.

Donations can be made via BOV Pay on 79530468 or by visiting the MSPCA’s website.
