ANKRA: Richmond Foundation’s Beacon of Support for Youth Mental Health in Malta

ANKRA: Richmond Foundation's Beacon of Support for Youth Mental Health in Malta
Oct 10 2023 Share

In today’s fast-paced world, the mental health challenges faced by young people are more prevalent than ever. Fortunately, in Malta, Richmond Foundation has stepped up to provide a lifeline for those grappling with mental health issues through their invaluable service known as ANKRA.

ANKRA is a beacon of hope, offering help, information, and support to young people affected by conditions such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, and substance abuse.

Mental health issues among young individuals have become a pressing concern globally, and Malta is no exception. ANKRA is designed to address these concerns head-on, offering a range of services to young people who are navigating the often tumultuous waters of mental health challenges. Through their compassionate and knowledgeable team, ANKRA provides a safe space for young people to seek help and guidance, fostering resilience and recovery.

ANKRA’s services are not limited to the young individuals themselves; they extend their support to parents and guardians who are crucial pillars in the support network for these young people. Mental health issues affect not only the individual but also their immediate family, and ANKRA recognises the need for comprehensive support.

Furthermore, ANKRA understands the importance of education and awareness in tackling mental health issues. They offer resources and support to various professionals who may encounter young individuals dealing with mental health challenges in their line of work.

ANKRA’s continued success depends on the generous support of the community. They rely on the kindness of individuals like you, who can make a real difference in the lives of young people facing mental health challenges. There are two primary ways you can contribute: volunteering your time and expertise to assist in the services ANKRA offers, and providing donations to ensure the sustainability of their organisation.

A local sailor, Greg Mifsud, came across a trapped turtle whilst out on a boat with some of his friends.

The turtle was trapped in a bundle of nylon, which the group quickly removed using a knife. The turtle, who had already seemingly lost limbs to previous incidents, was released back into the sea safely.
