The new school will house 46 classrooms, including 20 kindergarten classrooms. Unlike the previous two-storey structure, the new building will span five levels two of which will be underground and serve ancillary functions, with three levels above street level. The architectural design will integrate the existing façade to ensure continuity with the surrounding area.

A green rooftop area will also be developed, offering students hands-on experiences in tree and plant care, promoting environmental awareness from a young age.

As part of this initial phase, preparations are being made for the eventual demolition of the old structure, while preserving the historic façade due to its architectural value.

Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, Clifton Grima, together with the Minister for European Funds and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme, Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi, visited the site this morning.

During the visit, Minister Grima stated that, “This is yet another school construction project that reaffirms the strong commitment of the Ministry and the Foundation for Tomorrow’s Schools (FTS) to providing modern educational infrastructure that promotes improved learning environments and respects the principles of sustainable development.”

Minister Zrinzo Azzopardi said, “This project will not only offer a better space for education, but also foster creativity, collaboration, and community spirit, benefiting the wider population of the locality.”

The new building will cover an area of approximately 13,000 square metres over five floors, with around 3,000 square metres dedicated to outdoor activities. It is expected to accommodate around 1,000 children, both at the primary and kindergarten levels.
