Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo announced that the financial aid scheme for bars and clubs will be extended until the end of March. The decision was taken in consideration of the measure that clubs and bars were to remain closed until the end of March. With clubs and bars closed since October, there have been hopes of reopening before Christmas but due to constant corona virus spikes in cases, the date was postponed time and time again.
Commercial bars (Category A) will be receiving €2,870 with an additional €717. The total payment of €3,587 covers the time period between 28th October to 31st March. Category B (bars forming part of a club) will be receiving €1,860 plus €465, amounting to €2,325. Category C (non-political mergers) will receive €1,260 plus €315, amounting to €1,575.
