Fights Break Out in Gozo As Two People Seriously Injured

Police are investigating two linked arguments that occurred in Gozo last night, one in Rabat and another shortly after in Mġarr.

At around 9:45pm, police were alerted to a fight near a shop in Pjazza San Franġisk, Rabat. On arrival, they found a 44-year-old Syrian man, who lives in Rabat, with head injuries.

A medical team was called to the scene, and the man was taken by ambulance to Gozo General Hospital.

While officers were still at the scene conducting their investigation, they were informed of another argument near the Mġarr port, believed to involve the same individuals.

A second Syrian man was being treated by medical staff at the port and was also taken to hospital by ambulance. Later, both men were certified as having serious injuries.
