9-year-old girl suffers injuries after being hit by a car

Santa Lucija and Santa Venera witnessed two unfortunate incidents yesterday, resulting in injuries to individuals involved. The local police have launched investigations into both accidents to determine the circumstances and establish accountability.

The first incident occurred at around 6:45pm in Triq Dawret it-Torri, Santa Lucija. Authorities received reports of a traffic accident involving a 9-year-old girl. Swiftly responding to the distress call, the police arrived at the scene to find that the young girl had been hit by a Ford Transit Connect vehicle. The driver, a 43-year-old resident of Qormi, was operating the vehicle at the time of the incident. Details regarding the cause of the accident remain under investigation. However, it is clear that this unfortunate event has resulted in significant harm to the young victim.

The second incident took place later in the evening, around half past nine, on Triq il-Kukkanja in Santa Venera. The police were alerted that a 37-year-old man from the Philippines and a resident of Pieta had fallen while riding an e-kick scooter. The exact circumstances leading to the fall are still being examined by the authorities. The man was promptly provided medical assistance by a dedicated team on-site. Subsequently, he was transported to the hospital via ambulance, where medical professionals confirmed his serious injuries.

In both cases, the injured individuals received immediate medical attention to address their conditions. They were swiftly transported to the hospital for further assessment and treatment. Unfortunately, the severity of their injuries has been certified as grievous.

The police have initiated investigations into both incidents to shed light on the causes and gather pertinent evidence.
