Following the 2023 budget was announced by Finance Minister Clyde Caruana, Opposition leader Bernard Grech critiqued the lack of long term economic plan within the proposed measures.

Grech called out the government for ‘relying on debt’ to finance all of its initiatives, calling the budget plan ‘a budget in red’.

‘No wonder the briefcase is red. The whole country is in the red’ he said, saying that the budget is going to add another €1 billion in debt.

The budget fails to address real issues impacting people and continues to stand firm in an economic strategy which has failed, the PN leader stated.

Grech critiqued the cost of living adjustment raise was not enough to address the rising prices, even stating that it is no wonder the youth are leaving the island.

WhatsApp is DOWN: Thousands report issues with popular app

WhatsApp is DOWN: Thousands report issues with popular app
Oct 25 2022 Share

Thousands across the globe have reported issues with sending messages via popular app WhatsApp.

Many took to social media to report having issues, with Downdetector stating there have been around 2,079 reports of outages since around 0750am this morning.

There is no official news as to what caused the problem, although some have speculated whether it’s related to a recent update on the messaging service.

Earlier this month, the app was said to be testing group sizes of around 1,024 participants. The Meta-owned platform is developing a new feature which will automatically mute group messages when there are more 512 people involved.

The update is still in the development phase, with others also being developed behind the scenes. Guess we’ll have to make do with crusty old Messenger or Insta DM’s for now…
