It has been a challenging year for Charles, as not only him but also his daughter in law Catherine, have both been diagnosed with cancer.

To mark the occasion, the King is visiting a surplus food festival in Deptford, south London.

On the first anniversary of his Coronation Food Project, he will open the first two Coronation Food Hubs. This initiative aims to address food insecurity and reduce food waste across the UK, responding to the challenges of the cost-of-living crisis.

This will be a solo engagement for the King, as the Queen, who had planned to accompany him, continues to recover from a chest infection.

As part of the traditional celebrations, gun salutes will be fired in Green Park and at the Tower of London, and bells will ring out at Westminster Abbey, where the King’s coronation took place last year.

Maltese music duo The New Victorians have released their eagerly awaited Christmas album, Ninni – Album tal-Milied, now available on all digital platforms.

This album presents 11 Maltese Christmas carols reimagined and recorded live with a six-piece band at the picturesque Bir Miftuħ Chapel in Gudja, Malta.

Songs like Ġesu Ħelwa Tarbija and Ninni La Tibkix Iżjed blend the essence of Maltese festive traditions with the intimate ambiance of a live performance, offering a fresh, heartfelt take on holiday music.

To celebrate the release, The New Victorians will perform Chapel Hop Concerts from December 5–8, in collaboration with a multicultural choir and the Archbishop’s Delegate for Culture.

These concerts will bring the album’s music to life in historic chapels across Malta, showcasing the duo’s signature harmonies and capturing the magic of their live recordings.

The sisters shared their excitement, noting, “Each Christmas, audiences at our Chapel Hop concerts have asked for recordings of our arrangements, and now we’re thrilled to share this album. Recording at Bir Miftuħ Chapel with our band was magical, and we hope it brings joy and hope this holiday season.”

PN MP Alex Borg Pays Tribute To Late Father Tony

Nov 14 2024 Share

Nationalist MP Alex Borg turned to social media to pay tribute to his father, Tony, sharing with us these touching words;

“I miss you with every passing day, the impact you left on my life and that of those around you was enormous”, wrote Borg.

“I remember, even at your worst, even when you needed help, you still found a way to keep helping those in need.

You were the person who built my foundation and opened many doors of opportunities for me so i can be where I am today. The year of your passing was a hard year for me, nonetheless i learned a lot from it.”

I learnt that everything is temporary. I learned how to live in the moment. I learned how to love with all my heart. I learned how to only decide to do good, I learned how to adapt to life, especially in moments of vulnerability, I’ll never forget you Dad!”

Tony passed away on December 29, 2018, after a six-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. A former student at the University of Malta, Tony became a key figure in supporting tertiary education in Gozo.

Known for his good humour, generosity, and dedication to his family and community, Tony remained active despite his illness. He is survived by his wife, children, siblings, and many relatives and friends.

Tony was a man cherished by Gozitans and known for being an energetic public officer with an itch to always help those in need no matter what situation he found himself in.

Despite his illness, he always found a way to show up for matters and tend to his duties persevering over anything that came his way.

Borg concludes his post referring to his father as “sieheb”, a touching reference to their relationship.
