€50,000 Raised For Young Mother Battling Cancer After Appeal

After Birzebbuga deputy mayor Josette Busuttil heard the story of Kimberly Zammit, a 22 year old battling cancer, she issued a call for support for the young mother.
Busuttil issued an appeal for help on her social media, recounting how Kimberly had to undergo treatment as soon as she gave birth to her daughter.
‘She was taken to the UK, but on the last day they realised that she had breast cancer. Treatment after treatment, but it continued to spread.’
‘She has another three tumours. Doctors told her that at this stage there’s nothing that can be done.’
Josette wrote how she found out of a private hospital in Germany which has her last hope – an injection against the tumour. However, every injection costs €3,900.
After the call for help was issued, Kimberly issued a video thanking everyone for their help in sending money to help her. She unveiled that a whopping €50,000 were collected, thanking Josette and Gwida for sharing her story.
She expressed how grateful she was for complete strangers who decided to help her.
