Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo has announced a new scheme for elderly tourists travelling to Malta over a long period of time, where travellers aged 65 and over may receive €100 vouchers at a minimum of 15 nights.
The voucher scheme applies for the period between 18th October and 19th December to incentivise tourism beyond peak season and vouchers can be used on local establishments such as restaurants.
The vouchers will be distributed by the tourism operators and handed to tourists on arrival and are expected to generate five million euro towards the local economy from an investment on one million.
