The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh will visit Malta in October to commemorate the island’s independence from the United Kingdom.
According to an announcement from the Maltese government, Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, will be in Malta from October 7 to 10.
This year, Malta celebrates the 60th anniversary of becoming a sovereign nation.
A decade ago, Prince Edward’s nephew, Prince William, visited Malta to celebrate the island’s 50th Independence Day.
