Dog earns Guinness World Record for longest tongue

Zoey, a three-year-old Labrador/German Shepherd mix from Metairie, Louisiana, has claimed the Guinness World Record for being the dog with the longest tongue.

The pooch’s tongue measures a whopping 12.7cm long, making it longer than a normal can of Coke.

This means that Zoey has usurped the title from the English Setter called Brisbee who won the title three months ago with a record of 9.49cm.

It was explained by owners Sadie and Drew Williams that Zoey’s tongue had been lolling out of her mouth from a very young age.

‘We got Zoey when she was only six weeks old and in the first ever picture we have of her, she has her tongue sticking out,’ Sadie said.

To confirm the record, Sadie’s tongue was measured from the tip of her snout to the tip of her tongue. This showed that it was slightly longer from a 12.2cm long can of Coke.

Zoey’s tongue, and her cute antics, are all recorded on her social media page, run by her owners of course, @big_blep_zoey.
