Farrugia emphasised that this could have turned very badly in the blink of an eye and wanted to expose just how reckless some drivers take to Maltese streets.

This comes as more reports of reckless driving surface and the unfortunate increase in traffic road accidents and fatalities.

“I’m here to give hope to Milano and hope to Italy because you are the definition of courage. You have achieved so much throughout the years. Have overcome many hurdles and you will overcome this one too”, Engerer states as he emphasised that “Italy is the definition of what Europe is. Europe of equality. Europe of solidarity. Europe of love. And we, the European Parliament are with you in the fight for equality.”

In his speech Engerer made reference to a number of decisions against equality being taken by the new Italian Government and its allies, where among others a parent is being removed from birth certificates and official documents of children having two parents of the same sex.

“The European Parliament stands with you”, Engerer told these children and their parents.

He emphasised that Prime Minister Meloni has stated that she will only recognise and wants to protect those referred to as traditional families, “however, we too are here. We’re here in Milan, we’re here in Italy and you will not take us back into the closet”, Engerer said as he states that “our love will win over your hate, our love will win over your prejudice, because loves always wins.”
