The Minister for Culture, Lands and Local Government, Owen Bonnici, together with Film Commissioner Johann Grech, visited the set of a new Hallmark adventure film currently being shot entirely in Malta.

Filming is taking place across several locations, including Marsaxlokk Square, Birgu and Valletta, showcasing some of the island’s most recognisable landmarks.

The American production, directed by Kevin Fair, best known for his work on Smallville, is being filmed throughout September and October.

It is the latest in a growing list of international projects choosing Malta as a filming destination, supported by the government’s Cash Rebate programme and the country’s experienced film professionals.

Minister Bonnici praised the strong collaboration between the production team and Maltese crew members, noting that the majority of those employed on set were local professionals.

He said this reflects the high level of skill and creativity within Malta’s film industry and contributes positively to the economy.

The Minister added that international projects of this scale enhance Malta’s reputation as a dynamic and competitive creative hub. Film Commissioner Johann Grech said Malta now enjoys a thriving, year-round film industry, with increasing opportunities for Maltese workers and tangible results from the country’s long-term strategy for growth.
