Daniel Umanah set to continue his charity work in Nigeria

Local influencer Daniel Umanah is set to return to his father’s village in Nigeria and continue the charity work he started in 2019. Laying the foundations of the community-work, he and his colleagues contributed to the village of IKOT IMO in the ABAK L.G. Area. His father left his footmark in the village by funding the building of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and Daniel seeks to continue the legacy. He revealed how, as a Maltese nurse, he felt a need to take a small fraction of the Maltese generosity and health care standards to the village.

Raising €4,000 two years ago, the pandemic unfortunately did not allow them to raise any more money. With his next visit due however, he revealed how he has acquired all the necessary permits thanks to the Malta Police Force and Bank of Valletta. He asks people to donate any money they are willing to give in order to continue his charity work in Nigeria. Well done for the initiative Daniel!

X-Factor fan favourite Celine Agius’s weight loss journey is truly inspiring

Celine Agius quickly became a fan favourite as she competed in X-Factor Malta’s second season. With a stunning voice and amazing personality to match, the star has since been working super hard to improve her own health after it started to affect her personal life. In an emotional post, Celine revealed how she managed to lose 45 kilograms as she reflected on how things like a 5 minute walk or standing up on her own two feet were painful and tiring.

She stated that there is no secret to the journey but believing in the strength one has within. She revealed how the doctor told her she has to implement change immediately or suffer severe health conditions for life. She revealed how she was addicted to food and that going up stairs was almost impossible due to her suffering from lymphedema. She ended her powerful message by stating that if she could overcome such arduous challenges, it should inspire others to undertake the journey themselves. Well done Celine!

WATCH: Acts of Kindness: FREE TAXI ‘RYDES’ to random people

Summer in Malta means beach days, sunny weather and timeless memories. However, it can also mean scorching temperatures, busy streets and potentially even increased traffic – which is why getting from point A to point B may be more stressful than one would anticipate.

That is why for today’s act of kindness, Malta Daily has teamed up with local mobility service Ryde Malta to provide free taxi rides to people on various bus stops around Malta.

This initiative is part of Malta Daily’s Acts of Kindness, a series of kind gestures around Malta which not only attempt to brighten random people’s day but also encourage these individuals to pay it forward and spread the kindness themselves.

The significant amount of spontaneous brawls and heated online arguments may have been a by-product of such stress, which is why we are encouraging the people out there to exercise some of their good will and energy to conduct a random act of kindness, no matter how little it may be.

Australia approves Pfizer vaccine for children over 12-years-old

The Pfizer BioNTech vaccine has been approved for children over the age of 12 in Australia. The Therapeutic Goods Administration has approved the jab for young teenagers and is currently in the process of determining when they will get their turn. The TGA also stated that the decision was made on the basis of short term efficacy and safety data. ‘Continued approval depends on the evidence of longer term efficacy and safety from ongoing clinical trials’ it said in a statement.

With over-16-year-olds already provisionally approved for the vaccine, the TGA has still been undertaking research into the effects of the jab on youth. Despite the approval for 12-year-olds and over, the age group is not set to receive the jab for a while as the general population still needs to get its turn. Vulnerable children will be given priority however, as revealed by the Australian Federal government.
