Yesterday, the activity ‘Dancing with Pride’ took place in Valletta, as part of EuroPride Valletta 2023, where people of all ages came together in a beautiful atmosphere to convey the message of equality from the heart through dance.

While addressing the event, the Parliamentary Secretary for Reforms and Equality, Rebecca Buttigieg, said, “Today, we can all appreciate that when we respect each other and allow everyone to live their freedom, we create a stronger society that is enriched with love.”

While thanking everyone who attended and celebrated diversity, Parliamentary Secretary Rebecca Buttigieg stated that she is looking forward to the upcoming EuroPride in September, where Malta will celebrate its achievements and commit itself to ongoing reforms.

Present at the event alongside Parliamentary Secretary Rebecca Buttigieg were the President of Allied Rainbow Communities, Maria Azzopardi, and the Mayor of Valletta, Alfred Zammit.

One of the best things about summer is the ability to get one step closer to the majestic sea life that surrounds the Maltese Islands, and few encounters are as magical as the ones with dolphins.

Oftentimes, the aquatic mammals are spotted majestically gliding across the Maltese Islands by fisherman, swimmers and those casually enjoying a day on the boat, and this experience is no different.

A video sent to Malta Daily shows a majestic duo of dolphins glide their way across Marsaxlokk’s coast, close to the Hofriet fish farm, before they disappeared into the depths in the blink of an eye.

Have you seen any dolphins this year?

“Who are you protecting?” Eve Borg Bonello Questions Government On Sofia Public Inquiry

"Who are you protecting?" Eve Borg Bonello Questions Government On Sofia Public Inquiry

On Friday, Nationalist Party MP Eve Borg Bonello took to Parliament to question the government as to who “they are trying to protect” with regards to the lack of public inquiry into the Jean Paul Sofia tragedy.

“A citizen who was only guilty of waking up in the morning and going to work”, Borg Bonello described Sofia, who tragically lost his life at age 20 after a multi-storey building collapsed while he was working.

Borg Bonello went on to highlight a misdirection of justice, highlighting how a youth erecting a banner calling for justice for Jean Paul, was arrested on orders of the Police Commissioner.

Beyond the Parliament’s walls, a national front calling for a public inquiry into the tragedy is being held, with Jean Paul’s mother Isabelle Bonnici supported by various organisations across Malta.

In the meantime, Bonnici has set up a change.org petition titled ‘Petition to Members of Parliament to support a Public Inquiry on the death of Jean Paul‘, so if you want to support the cause make sure you sign.
