Maltese Labour MP Cyrus Engerer will be making his way to Glasgow as part of the European Parliament Delegation at the COP26, the 26th United Nations Climate Change conference. World leaders will all be convening for this massive event between the 31st of October and the 12th of November in order to discuss the urgent measures on mitigating climate change.
Engerer said that the work done by his office in Brussels on the environment, climate change and the EU’s fundamental values ‘is reaping fruit and this is being recognized by the Group of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament Group and within the European Parliament’s administration.’
Engerer expressed his feelings of honor and humility in being part of the European Parliament’s delegation attending COP26, adding that the EU’s ambition must go beyond Europe’s shores in order to instigate changes worldwide. The European Union delegation will be led by Frans Timmermans, the European Commission Executive Vice President.
