Culture Minister Owen Bonnici has officially proven to be in tune with online meme culture too, hopping onto the iconic “6’7” meme.

In a wholesome video shared to Instagram story, the Minister’s daughter Ema asked her dad how it’s done, with Owen responding with the the viral movement.

This is not the first time a local politician has hopped onto the trend. During the Budget 2026 speech, ADPD Chairperson Sandra Gauci also did it, showing just how influential it has become even locally.

The term originates from rapper Skrilla’s December 2024 song Doot Doot (6 7), which references a 6’7” basketball player. The song quickly went viral, aided by videos and memes featuring NBA star LaMelo Ball.

Since then, “67” has evolved beyond its original meaning. It is now used as a playful, nonsensical expression that often appears as part of a call-and-response, where someone shouts “six” and others answer “seven.” The phrase is also accompanied by a distinctive hand gesture, known as the “juggling” motion.

It became so popular that Dictionary.com deemed it the 2026 Word of the Year… despite it being two numbers.
