As investigations continue into the tragic death of Jan Pace, Crisis Resolution Malta has issued a heartfelt statement urging the community to unite and take meaningful action to prevent further loss.

“This is a tough night for all of us,” the statement begins. “We know the pain that comes with losing someone to suicide. Every month, many others suffer in silence, often unnoticed. The impact is profound, even for those of us working in this field.”

Crisis Resolution Malta stresses the importance of ensuring that Jan’s death is not in vain and calls for three key actions to help save lives across Malta and Gozo: Talk openly and responsibly about suicide, support The Crisis Team, and campaign for an inclusive national suicide prevention strategy.

The statement came after Jan Pace was sadly found deceased following an extensive search.

The Malta Police Force confirmed that the discovery was made at 4:45 pm during ongoing searches.

In their statement Crisis Resolution Malta said, “Malta and Gozo rose up in an incredible display of charity, love, and compassion over the past 90 hours. Simply impressive.”

The Crisis Team urges everyone to remain vigilant over the coming days, as many may experience heightened sadness and crisis. “If you or anyone you know is struggling or affected by Jan’s death, please reach out. We are always here for you, but remember, being there for each other is the best medicine.”

Concluding the statement, they say, “Goodbye dear Jan, you too were superb in your own way. May you protect us and inspire us to continue saving lives. Let Jan and others who remain unspoken unite us. Let’s do it for them and their loved ones.”
