CPD Officers Assist Injured Hiker In Naxxar

Earlier this week, Civil Protection Malta rescuers from Station 3, 11 and the Urban Search & Rescue team (USAR) were called to assist a casualty that required medical attention while hiking in Naxxar.

Civil Protection Malta also thanked the Malta Police Force and Mater Dei Hospital Emergency Department for their assistance.

It is currently unclear what the identity or the state of the person rescued is.

Car Reportedly On Fire Outside St Julian's Tunnel

A car has reportedly caught fire outside St Julian’s tunnel in direction towards Kappara.

Access to the tunnel is currently blocked by emergency services, with a major standstill currently in place.

Chef Letizia Vella Wins Prestigious International Award

Masterchef’s very own judge, Chef Letizia Vella has continued making Malta proud, winning the prestigious Knife Award for Excellence in Cuisine at the 2024 Best Chef Awards in Dubai.

The Best Chef Awards recognises the best of the best and all the top culinary talents from around the world, awarding 300 distinguished chefs.

This is the first time a Maltese chef has ever won the award and ultimately highlights Chef Letizia’s passion, skill and innovation in the feild.

Writing on her Instagram, Letizia stated that she was “honored and grateful to be recognized with excellence in world selection” and she also thanked her whole team at the Golden Fork.

Haley Bugeja Scores Again For Inter Women

Haley Bugeja has stun the European football scene yet again scoring a goal for one of the biggest teams in the world, Inter.

Along with Bugeja’s goal, Inter managed to secure a commanding away 5-2 victory against Parma in the Coppa Italia Quarter Finals.

In the first half, the Nerazzurri opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, with Bugeja capitalising on a defensive error and finishing with a precise left-footed shot to give Inter a much needed lead.

However the match was not over yet with Parma turning the match around between the 73rd and 75th minutes with goals from Kajzba and Rognoni.

Inter managed to settle their nerves and comeback with Cambiaghi heading in a Magull corner in the 79th minute to make it 2-2, sending the match into extra time.

Karchouni then scored a stunning goal in the 101st minute with a magical left-footed strike, before Magull and Cambiaghi sealed the win for the Nerrazzuri.
