Cow Carcass Spotted Floating Off Coast Of Mellieħa

Local
Marine biologist Alan Deidun took to social media to share photos of the carcass of a cow that was reportedly dumped into the sea and was subsequently spotted off Sikka l-Bajda off the coast of Mellieħa.
According to a commenter, the cow was not of local origin as the breed is not found locally.
According to the commenter, who works in the animal husbandry sector, the cow is most likely a Brahman breed, usually known for its distinctive hump on its back.
‘More likely that it died on a cattle transport ship and was disposed of overboard. If the cleansing division is contacted it will be removed’, said Noel Demicoli.
