Conor McGregor beaten by Dustin Poirier at UFC 257

Conor McGregor lost his match to Dustin Poirier at the UFC 257 while he was 2 minutes and 32 seconds into the second round.

This means that all hopes of a McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov have now been shattered. His last fight was in fact against Nurmagomedov in October of 2018.

McGregor put this defeat down to his inactivity and he said that “I need activity, you don’t get away with being inactive in this business”.

Carabott scores winning goal in Charleroi’s win!

Ylenia Carabott scored the winning goal during Charleroi’s game against Zultewaregem (2-1).

Carabott who previously played for Chievo Fortitudo earned the penalty, which led to the 1-0 during the second half of the game.

Man grievously injured during a fight in St Paul’s Bay

A 40-year-old male was grievously injured last night around 11:30 PM.

The police were informed that a man was lying injured on the ground at Xtut Street. When they arrived, however, the man had already been taken to the Mosta healthcare centre.

The man was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital with certified grievous injuries.

Clash of the titans: McGregor takes on Poirier tonight in huge UFC event

Saturday night will be a good night for combat sports with UFC 257 set to be a massive card with Dustin Poirier versus Conor McGregor 2 at the top of the card.

The marks McGregor’s return to the ring after talks of retirement, with his last fight being against Donald Cerrone back in January 2020, where he won via technical knockout 40 seconds in.

The card will also feature Dan Hooker’s bout against former Bellator champion Michael Chandler in his Octagon debut, amongst others.
