Civil Protection Malta and AFM Carry Out Joint Rescue at Riviera Bay

Earlier this afternoon, a coordinated rescue operation unfolded at Riviera Bay after a man required urgent medical attention in a difficult-to-reach area.
Civil Protection Malta (CPM) confirmed that rescuers from Fire Stations 3 and 5 were dispatched to the scene to assist the individual.
Due to the challenging terrain and limited accessibility, conventional ground rescue proved difficult. As a result, the use of aerial support was deemed essential.
The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) were called in to provide helicopter assistance, enabling the safe evacuation of the man to receive the necessary medical care.
The operation highlighted the importance of inter-agency cooperation in emergency situations.
In a statement, Civil Protection Malta expressed its gratitude to the AFM, the Malta Police Force, Transport Malta, the Malta Red Cross, and Mater Dei Hospital’s Emergency Department for their “invaluable assistance” during the rescue.
Thanks to the swift intervention and joint effort, the man was safely transported for treatment, with authorities commending all those involved in the successful operation.
