Council Motion To Name Floriana Pitch After Il-Lullu

Council Motion To Name Floriana Pitch After Il-Lullu
Mar 13 2024 Share

Taking to social media, Floriana Nationalist Party councillor James Aaron Ellul announced that, on Thursday 14th March, he plans on putting forth a motion to name the King George V Garden pitch after Mark Piscopo, known as il-Lullu.

Mark Piscopo was a beloved kit manager of Malta’s national football team who passed away at the age of 52 back in June of 2022.

Il-Lullu was admired for giving his heart and soul to the game of football, always with an infectious smile.

‘The pitch serves a number of sport functions’, wrote James Aaron Ellul, ‘but it primarily serves as a football pitch – the sport which Mark was so involved in and remained beloved for, not just by the people of Floriana but even all those involved in the sport on a national level.’

He described Mark as having distilled so much love for football in Malta’s new generations through his work and character.

Do you agree with James Aaron Ellul?
