Chelsea Legend Roberto Di Matteo Praises Malta In 1st Visit

Chelsea FC legend Roberto Di Matteo showered praise upon Malta as he visited ahead of the pre-season tournament set to take place this August.

The professional football manager and former player was the one to lead Chelsea FC to their 1st Champions League trophy in 2012. He even won the FA Cup with the team.

In his Malta visit, Matteo highlighted Malta’s sunshine, saying that is a commodity that many people are searching for.

He also said how easy it was to travel here, the beautiful beaches, and how well he and the rest of the contingent were treated as they made their way around the island.

He also compared it to his home back in Italy, which made him feel extra homey.

Di Matteo is also known for his stints as a player, having played with Lazio before joining Chelsea in 1996 for £4.9 million, which was a club record at the time.
