Actor Channing Tatum opened up about how his experience of becoming a father to his daughter Everly made him realise how scary the world is for women.
The actor, known for his various roles in films like 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike, opened up about his shift in perspective following the birth of his daughter who he shares with ex-wife Jenna Dewan.
Tatum and Dewan dated for three years before marrying in 2009. Everly was born in 2013 but the relationship didn’t work out, as the couple announced their separation in 2018.
Now co-parenting nine-year-old Everly, Tatum said that his and his ex-wife’s self-repeated story of staying young was shattered as parenthood made him realise how different two people can be.
He went on to explain that when he had a daughter, he started to realise how scary the world is for women. “You can conceive it when you love someone that is a girl, but it doesn’t land in the same way as having a tiny female human in the world that is so vulnerable and looking at the world through rose-colored glasses” he explained.
Elsewhere, Tatum explained that after Magic Mike in 2012, he got really busy and stopped working for around 5 years. This comes ahead of the release of ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’ which will be released in cinemas on February 10th 2023.
