Ċensu Moran Centre Welcomes First Patients

The newly established Ċensu Moran Regional Health Centre has officially opened its doors and started receiving its first patients for outpatient clinical services.
The launch marks a significant milestone in the country’s healthcare development.

Minister for Health and Active Ageing, Jo Etienne Abela, visited the centre on its first day of operation.
During his visit, he met some of the first patients being treated and emphasised the government’s commitment to delivering on its healthcare promises. He noted that fifty individuals received outpatient services on the centre’s opening day.
Initially, the centre is offering speech and language pathology and gynaecology services. Under the guidance of the Ministry for Health and Active Ageing and the Foundation for Medical Services, more services will be gradually introduced throughout the month.

These include physiotherapy, orthopaedics, manometry, podiatry, gastroenterology, and respiratory medicine. The portable MRI scanner, which has already served over 1,000 patients, will continue to be available.
Minister Abela stated that the centre would continue to expand its services over the coming weeks, aiming to reach its full potential.
Two new endoscopy theatres are also expected to become operational shortly, providing further specialised care.

During the visit, the Minister met Rebecca Formosa, a Speech and Language Pathologist who will be working at the centre. She highlighted that the investment in modern equipment will ensure a high-quality service that will greatly benefit patients.
The Ċensu Moran Centre is set to become an important regional facility supporting community healthcare.
