Caritas Malta Appeals For Aid To Support People In Gaza
Local

Caritas Malta, at the request of the Bishops of Malta and Gozo and in collaboration with Caritas Internationalis, has launched an urgent appeal for financial donations to assist the people of Gaza.

The situation in Gaza has reached catastrophic levels, with families experiencing severe hunger, lack of medical care, and critical shortages of water, electricity and shelter.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health and the United Nations, deaths from starvation and malnutrition are increasing daily.

Over 2 million people remain trapped in an area smaller than Gozo, with 88% of the territory either under Israeli military control or ordered to evacuate. Access to humanitarian aid is minimal due to ongoing violence and bureaucratic barriers. Even areas such as the Jenin refugee camp remain largely inaccessible.

Caritas Internationalis and its partners have already assisted more than 1.7 million people in Gaza since 2023, providing food, shelter, clean water, hygiene supplies, financial support and psychosocial care.

Caritas Malta is now seeking additional funds to sustain and expand these life-saving efforts.

Donations can be made via bank transfer, cheque, or through parish priests. Bank details and instructions are available on the Caritas Malta website and are valid until 1 September 2025.

Cheques must be for €21 or more and should be addressed to the Caritas Emergency Aid Fund.

Caritas urges the Maltese public to respond generously to help alleviate the suffering of Gaza’s civilian population. For more information, contact Caritas Malta on 22199000.
