For the first day of June, summer lovers on the Maltese islands will be treated to a scorching temperature of 36°C as we move into the first heat wave of summer 2022.

As reported by Facebook page ‘It-Temp Madwarna’, the weather today is set to be intensely hot and dry, with a light wind of Force 2 to 3.

The sea will start out lightly wavy but will calm down during the day, making perfect welcome to beachgoers as they finally dip in their feet for a well needed refresh.

And we’ll need it as the highest temperature will climb up to 35 degrees Celsius, with the lowest still being pretty hot at 23 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, make sure you pack sunscreen as UV will reach an intensity of 10.

The rest of the week, as forecasted earlier, will be sunny all the way through to next week. Temperatures are set to feel as hot as 34 degrees Celsius throughout, making today a taster of what is to come.

Other investigations showed that the man had caused damage to a Ford Focus which was being driven by a 28-year-old Pakistani before entering the building. Three other men were taken to Mater Dei, hurt by the man’s attacks. A Swedish man was certified as having suffered grievous injuries due to the knife attack, with two Italian men suffering light injuries.

The motivation behind the attack is as of yet unknown, but an inquiry has been opened and police are investigating the case further.
