Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech has revealed that he intends to commission experts to guide the party on the necessary decisions which need to be made to reduce the debts.
The debt amounted to around €32 million over the years, with Grech going on to say that no leader wants to exit the Dar Centrali and sell the clubs. However, he said that either the party will maintain the nostalgia as the party dies or decisions are taken today.
The necessary studies will be carried out by the experts, said the Opposition leader. They will then inform him on how to better use the assets so that the debt will be reduced.
So far, Bernard Grech seems to be the only PN candidate who intends to contest the party’s leadership election. Former leader Adrian Delia stated that he will support any new leader, effectively ruling out the possibility of contesting.
Meanwhile, popular Gozitan shadow minister Alex Borg also said that he intends to first pick up the tricks of the trade before contesting the leadership in the future. Other popular candidate Joe Giglio also ruled out contesting the role.
