Bernard Grech Thanks His Wife And Children For Sacrifices During Challenging Times as PN Leader

When addressing the media, Bernard Grech thanked his wife Anne Marie and his two children, Neil and Maria, for making big sacrifices during his tenure as PN leader.

He went on to describe this period in his life as very difficult, after he lost both parents and also former PN MP Karl Gouder died on Tuesday, two days after announcing his intention to run for the post of party general secretary, things that made his experience as a leader more difficult.

He vowed to stay on as opposition leader until a new leader is agreed upon and went on to thank everyone for such an honourable experience.

Bernard Grech has confirmed that he will resigning from his position as Leader of the Nationalist Party.

During his speech, he highlighted all the work he and his team did during the European Parliament and Local Council elections as well as serving as an ‘effective opposition.’

He said that he will be staying as PN Leader until a new leader is elected. He said that whoever will follow in his stead he is sure will be what the party needs and what the Maltese people need as Opposition.

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Partit Nazzjonalista has been called for Wednesday 11th June 2025 to immediately being the formal process of appointing a new leader.
