The days of carpooling with James Corden are almost over, as the beloved host of the ‘The Late Late Show’ is set to give up his seat next year.

This will bring the show to a close after an eight-season run, with Corden getting emotional as he spoke about his departure in a monologue on Thursday night.

‘I never want this show to overstay its welcome in any way. I always want to love making it. And I really think in a year from now, that will be a good time to move on and see what else might be out there’ he said.

He did say that the next season will be the best year and that he intends to go out with a bang. Seven years ago, Corden took television by storm, particularly in the USA.

His creative comedic swings resonated with viewers worldwide, with his Carpool Karaoke helping the show generate more than a billion YouTube views as he sang alongside celebrities.

CEO of CBS George Cheeks commended Corden’s creative genius, saying that he had the privilege of experiencing his valuable partnership with CBS, both as a performer and a producer.

1 metre long and ‘nasty’ jellyfish colony spotted in Maltese waters

Marine biologist Alan Deidun took to social media to share images of a 1 metre long siphonophore jellyfish colony, which belongs to the same family as the Portuguese Man O’War.

Deidun described the creature as a ‘nasty and stinging snake-like beast’, a creature which usually appears in Spring. The colonies of the Forskalia Edwardsi are part of the same group as one of the deadliest jellyfish species.

The jellyfish were spotted at St Julian’s, with Deidun attaching the MED-Jellyfish identification manual for further information.

The manual states that the species form large colonies, with each one including individuals which are responsible to keep the colony afloat whilst others provide nutrients and/or reproductive functions.

And to top it all off, the species are equipped with whole batteries of stinging cells. Awareness about such creatures not only protects people as they splash around in summer, but also creates further incentive to protect biodiversity in our seas.
