A mural at Imsida Skate Park created by Glenn Cauchi, (@cooker_hkc), immortalised the late youth worker Laura Rio, who passed away earlier this month.

Speaking to MaltaDaily, the artist behind the mural dedicated to Laura Rio said,“What I can say about Laura is that she was a positive, kind, and genuine person to many. Whether you were a stranger or a friend, she would always be there if you needed help. She founded and led the Asphalt Sirens group to support beginners and encourage them to get involved in the skating community. She was loved by many and will be remembered forever for her care for individuals, especially children, and for the environment. Her loss has been a shock to many, myself included, and I still find it hard to believe what happened. My condolences go to her family and to Hayden, her boyfriend. But I’m sure Laura wouldn’t want us to stop here like her, we must stay full of spirit, have faith, think positively, and always do the right thing. Rest in peace, my dear friend Laura.”

Laura was known for constant youth activism and was always pushing for the safety at the Imsida Skate Park.

And now her presence will remain at the skate park, with Cauchi’s mural capturing the vibrant and colourful energy of Laura which everyone who knew her adored.

Rest in peace Laura.
