Rapper “Diddy” Arrested in New York City

Sean P "Diddy" Arrested in New York City

Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested Monday at the Park Hyatt hotel in New York City, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Federal agents detained Combs based on a sealed indictment filed by the Southern District of New York, which is expected to be unsealed soon. The specific charges remain unclear.

Combs has recently faced a series of lawsuits alleging sexual assault and misconduct. In November, former girlfriend Cassie Ventura sued him, accusing him of years of abuse. They settled the lawsuit a day later without disclosing the terms. Combs denied the allegations, calling them attempts for a “quick payday.” However, in May, a leaked video showed him physically assaulting Ventura in 2016, for which he later apologized.

Last week, Dawn Richard, a former member of the group Danity Kane, also sued Combs, alleging groping and threats during her employment from 2005 to 2012. Richard claimed to have witnessed Combs’ violent behavior toward Ventura. Ventura’s lawsuit included claims of sex trafficking, abuse, and rape. Richard alleged Combs hosted “drug-fueled parties” where guests, including underage girls, were exploited.

Combs’ attorney stated he was “shocked and disappointed” by the latest lawsuit. Further details on the indictment are expected soon.

Richard Gadd, creator of Baby Reindeer, delivered an inspiring speech after winning the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series.

Dressed in a kilt, Gadd encouraged the audience, saying, “No matter how bad it gets, it always gets better,” urging perseverance.

His win came amidst legal controversy surrounding the Emmy-nominated Baby Reindeer series, which is facing a $170 million lawsuit from Fiona Harvey.

Harvey claims the show, which depicts Gadd’s real-life experiences of being stalked, defames her and violates her privacy.

Gadd and his co-stars, including Jessica Gunning, Nava Mau, and Tom Goodman-Hill, were instructed by lawyers not to discuss the lawsuit in public.

During several Emmy events, including The Hollywood Reporter Nominee Party and the BAFTA LA Tea Party, Gadd and the cast were asked to avoid any mention of Harvey or the lawsuit.

Gadd repeatedly declined to comment, citing the ongoing legal case. Despite the legal cloud, Baby Reindeer has made a positive impact, with Gadd highlighting increased charity referrals for abuse and stalking cases in the UK. However, the lawsuit casts a shadow over the show’s success, despite its 11 Emmy nominations.
