Minister for Gozo and Planning, Clint Camilleri, visited the final preparations for the ŻiguŻajg Arts Festival for children and young people, which is once again taking place on the island of Gozo. This festival of creativity, inspiration, and cultural renewal is celebrating its 15th edition this year.

Over the past 15 years, ŻiguŻajg has become a cornerstone of the cultural calendar for Maltese and Gozitan families. Years of consistent work have borne fruit, and today the festival celebrates not only its achievements but also the artistic voices that children have discovered throughout this extraordinary journey of exploring the world through art.

Minister Camilleri stated, “This festival gives our children, from a very young age, the opportunity to take part in and experience visual arts, as well as theatre, dance, and music. It is a festival that continues to encourage our children to move forward and express themselves more fully through the arts.”

This year’s festival, taking place from 14 to 23 November in Gozo, Valletta, and Birgu, brings life to our streets, squares, and cultural spaces through theatre, music, dance, film, puppetry, and interactive experiences all specially created for children and families.

Festival Artistic Director Marta Vella expressed pride in presenting “the most extensive programme to date in Gozo, featuring school performances, public shows, and community activities. The 15th edition of ŻiguŻajg certainly includes something special for everyone.”

Gozo features strongly in the festival with a programme tailored specifically for Gozitan children, offering extraordinary journeys for all ages: from the magic of Chasing Rainbows for toddlers and children up to two years old, to Anton u l-Għakruxu and other productions aimed at children aged 8–10, including workshops and performances such as Planet Much N’ Staff.
