Local

Local NGO Żibel has shared the details of its upcoming emergency clean-up in the wake of Storm Harry, calling on volunteers to lend a helping hand.

The clean-up kicks off tomorrow at 9:30am and is expected to last around two hours. Volunteers can choose from eight different locations across the island, making it easy to join in wherever you are.

For those in the Sliema area, meeting points include Exiles Beach, Qui-Si-Sana, and Surfside. Additional locations are Dragonara Beach in St Julian’s and the Reverse Osmosis site in Pembroke.

Volunteers can also gather at Għallis Roundabout and Splash & Fun in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, as well as the Pitstop Kiosk in Xemxija.

Żibel will be providing gloves and rubbish bags to all participants. Volunteers are simply asked to bring their own water and come ready to make a difference.
