Young People Invited To Experience Life As MEPs In Brussels

Young people aged between 18 and 25 are being invited by MEP Peter Agius to take part in simEUlation, a three-day educational experience at the European Parliament in Brussels from 10 to 12 December 2025. The initiative offers participants a unique opportunity to step into the role of Members of the European Parliament and learn first-hand how decisions are made at the heart of the EU.
To be in with a chance of securing one of the limited places on the subsidised trip, applicants must submit a short 300-word essay titled “X’nixtieq nara aktar (jew anqas) mill-Ewropa għalina ż-żgħażagħ” or “Things Europe can do more (or less) for us young people.” Essays may be written in Maltese or English and must be submitted by 9 November 2025.

The best submissions will be selected to take part in simEUlation, joining other young people and MEPs from five different European countries. The programme aims to inspire participants to engage more deeply with European affairs while developing their understanding of how EU policies shape everyday life.
Each chosen participant will benefit from a subsidised trip, which includes flights, accommodation and transport within Brussels. A €100 contribution will be required to cover these expenses.
Encouraging young people to take part, MEP Peter Agius said the initiative offers an invaluable insight into European democracy. “It is a chance for our youth to see how their ideas can fit within the wider European framework and to understand the role they can play in shaping the future of Europe,” he said.
