Young Kids Learn About Malta’s Environment Laws & Biodiversity In Junior Ranger Meet-Ups

This past weekend, the Malta Ranger Unit kicked off their first ever Junior Ranger program in Malta, with the aim of educating children aged 6 to 10 about environmental laws, biodiversity and the green code.

The group walked the Xemxija Heritage trail through Miżieb woodlands and the picnic area, and were then met by some special guests.

The Environment Protection Unit (EPU) Police introduced themselves to the JR Rangers and gave an introduction as to their role.

The little rangers even got a chance to sit in the police car after they asked the officers some questions.

‘The session concentrated on trail etiquette; following the pathways, watch where you step, respect the people around you and also the flora and fauna.’

‘Throughout the program, we are emphasising on introducing the Jr Rangers to the dedicated enforcers who work behind the scenes to protect nature.’

‘Instilling respect and admiration for the ones at the frontline is the foundation to create a sense of integrity and bridge building!’
