Young Girl Steals The Spotlight During PM Speech

During Prime Minister Robert Abela’s speech marking 6 years on office, a young girl ran up to him to for a big hug, promptly being lifted up by Abela in front of a cheering crowd.
The little girl waved to the crowd along with the Prime Minister, before giving him a kiss and going in for another hug.
This came during a speech wherein he announced that the government is determined to reclaim Fort St Salvatur in Birgu and restore it for families.
Speaking at a rally marking six years in office, he said the historic fort, previously used as a concrete plant and now abandoned, will be taken back from private hands and rehabilitated.
He also referred to White Rocks, Manoel Island, Fort Campbell and Fort Tigné, which are set to be returned to the public thanks to a strong economy.
Abela highlighted major investment in sports infrastructure, amounting to €120 million, and confirmed that regeneration of the Grand Harbour will soon begin with a detailed plan for the Menqa area.
He announced that Malta’s deficit will fall below 3 percent well ahead of schedule, while stressing optimism in the economy, record budgets, lower debt, low unemployment and a long term vision focused on quality jobs, stronger families and a better quality of life for all.
