Young Aspiring Blind Musician Quiven Meets Legend Andrea Bocelli

Young Maltese musician Quiven has fulfilled a lifelong dream after meeting world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli, thanks to an initiative led by the Ministry for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government.

Despite being blind, Quiven has never allowed his disability to hold him back. Instead, he has nurtured his talents through music, seeing it as a powerful way to express himself and connect with others.

His greatest wish was to meet Bocelli, one of the most celebrated blind artists in the world—a wish that has now been realised.

Minister Owen Bonnici, who announced the news on social media, highlighted how the moment symbolises the transformative role of art and culture. “In a world dominated by negative news and conflict, art and culture are a positive force that can make a difference for the better. Ask Quiven,” Bonnici wrote.

The meeting with Bocelli not only represents a milestone in Quiven’s personal journey but also stands as an inspiration for others facing challenges, showing how determination and passion can overcome obstacles.

Through this encounter, Quiven’s story has become a testament to the unifying and uplifting power of music.
