World-Famous All'Antico Vinaio to Open in Malta

The world-famous sandwich brand All’Antico Vinaio is set to open its first Maltese location on Republic Street in Valletta, bringing its iconic Florentine flavours to the heart of the capital. The new outlet marks the brand’s 56th location worldwide, further cementing its global footprint.

Founded in Florence in 1991, All’Antico Vinaio has built an international reputation for its authentic Tuscan schiacciata sandwiches. Loved by millions and consistently ranked among the world’s top street food brands, its arrival in Malta places Valletta alongside major cities such as New York, London, and Paris.

Located on one of Malta’s busiest and most historic streets, the new outlet is expected to become a hotspot for both locals and tourists, adding to Valletta’s dynamic food scene.

Founder and CEO Tommaso Mazzanti described the opening as another key milestone in the brand’s global expansion. He expressed pride in bringing their signature schiacciata experience to a city with such a strong identity and rich history.

Local franchisee Director Victor Borg highlighted Republic Street as the ideal setting, noting its unique mix of heritage, footfall, and atmosphere. He added that the team is confident the outlet will quickly become a must-visit destination.

The Malta location will stay true to the brand’s roots, serving freshly prepared schiacciata bread with premium ingredients sourced from Italy. It will also introduce Malta-exclusive variations inspired by local flavours.

The official opening will take place on April 25 at 12pm, with doors opening daily from 10:00 to 22:00 as of April 26.

Founded by the Mazzanti family, All’Antico Vinaio rose to global fame with its signature sandwich “La Favolosa,” even earning a spot among the world’s top five sandwiches. Today, the brand continues to expand internationally, now adding Malta to its growing list of destinations.
