Worker Injured In Żurrieq During Ceiling Demolition Works

The Building and Construction Authority and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority are assisting in investigations after a worker was injured in Triq il-Qrendi, Żurrieq.
Both authorities were on site immediately following the incident and promptly initiated parallel investigations in support of the same inquiry.
Findings show that demolition works on ceilings were being carried out when the ceiling on which the works were taking place collapsed.
It is unclear what led to the collapse. As a result, a worker sustained injuries and was hospitalised.
