Woman Reportedly Falsely Fundraising Money For Marie Louise Coleiro Preca

Marsa Mayor Luke Farrugia shared footage of a woman who is reportedly going around knocking on doors and pretending to raise money for President Emeritus Marie Louise Coleiro Preca.

‘From information I have from her, this fundraising is not taking place in her name’, said Farrugia.

‘It is disgraceful that someone would exploit the trust and generosity of the public, particularly by using the name of a person who has dedicated so much of her work to supporting those in need’, said Farrugia.

‘Her Excellency carries out valuable work for children, young people and vulnerable individuals through organisations such as the Malta Trust Foundation and the Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society. This work deserves respect and support, not to be exploited for personal gain.’

The police have reportedly been contacted so that the necessary investigations can be carried out.

‘I urge everyone to verify directly with the organisation concerned that any fundraising campaign is official and authorised before making a donation.’
