Woke Up Earlier? Feeling Hungry Already? Here's What To Expect After The Clock Change
Local

If you woke up unusually early this morning, you're not alone!

Early on Sunday, 25th October, Malta officially switched back to winter time, with clocks moving backwards by one hour, and our bodies might need some time to catch up.

Here's what you might experience over the next few days.

1. Waking Up Earlier Than Usual

If you normally wake up at 8am, you might have found yourself wide awake at 7am today. In reality, your body woke up at exactly the same time it's used to!

2. Feeling Hungry Before Lunchtime

Is your stomach already rumbling at 11am? That's because your body still thinks it's midday. Your usual meal times are slightly off.

3. It'll Get Dark Much Earlier

One of the biggest changes is the earlier sunset. By the time you're leaving work, it might already be dark.

4. Feeling Sleepy Earlier

If you normally get tired at 11pm, don't be surprised if you're ready for bed by 10pm. Your internal clock hasn't adjusted yet.

5. Evenings Might Feel Shorter

With shorter days, you might feel like the day’s ending before you've had a chance to enjoy your evening.

6. Your Routine Might Feel Strange

From your morning coffee to your gym sessions, familiar activities might feel like they're happening later than your body expects.

The good news? Most people adjust to the change within a few days.

Until then, enjoy that extra hour of sleep and prepare for the darker winter evenings ahead!
