Wine, Music & Harbour Views: Valletta Waterfront Wine Fest Returns This June!
Summer in Malta often revolves around long evenings outdoors, and few locations capture that feeling better than the Valletta Waterfront Wine Fest.
Following a successful debut last year, the event returns this June from Tuesday 9th to Friday 12th, transforming one of the island’s most historic harbour-side promenades into a celebration of wine, food and live entertainment.
Set against the striking backdrop of the Grand Harbour, the Valletta Waterfront is instantly recognisable for its colourful doors and restored warehouses originally built by the Knights of St John.
Today it stands as one of Malta’s most vibrant social hubs, blending history with modern dining and nightlife just minutes from Valletta and Floriana.
The festival invites visitors to enjoy a relaxed wine experience along the promenade. Guests can purchase a €20 Wine Package, which includes four wine tokens and a souvenir glass while stocks last.
Tokens can be exchanged at different stations, with standard wines requiring one token and premium selections requiring two. The offering includes international labels alongside Maltese wines.
Wine Ambassador Joséf Bonello will also be present, sharing insights into the island’s winemaking heritage. His presence adds a local touch that highlights Malta and Gozo’s growing reputation in the wine sector and indigenous grapes such as Girgentina and Ġellewża.
Beyond tasting, the festival focuses on atmosphere. Live music from Fakawi, Janvil and Kevin Paul will provide a soundtrack of summer favourites, while guests enjoy food from waterfront restaurants serving seafood, pizza, sharing platters and desserts.
The setting encourages a casual experience where visitors can move between tasting stations, dining spots and entertainment areas.
With its combination of harbour views, music and easygoing style, the Valletta Waterfront Wine Fest is becoming a key fixture in Malta’s summer calendar, offering an evening that blends culture, leisure and coastal charm.
